I did another short comic, it can be found here.

No ideas on the next one I'm going to do, however.

I did a short comic thing and I'm working on another at the moment.  This new one will be 4 or 5 pages.

Question, this is rough dialogue for a potential comic.  What isn't apparent from this is it takes place in a near future setting, what I want to know is if the idea of scanning is explained well enough here without being too heavy handed.  I'd like to explain things without having to put in a footnote at the bottom of the page, basically.

This weekend I was out with Ewan while he was visiting and we stopped at a 7-11 so I could get some gas.  After we were done, we were leaving when someone said that someone else had left a guinea pig around the corner.  Someone abandoned him in a dirty cage on a hot sidewalk and I felt so bad I took him myself.

Who would abandon him when he is clearly the BEST GUINEA PIG IN THE WORLD video evidence follows.

His name is Harvey and he loves bell peppers.

Haha the spoilers are really starting to come out in full force.  If anyone cares about them, stay far away from the Something Awful forums; FYAD's gone and bought about 10 banner ads for it as well as purchasing spoiling avatars for a ton of different posters.

It's hilarious, they're really starting to go all out.  I understand, since it's their last book to spoil and all.

Now, I think some of the ones they're posting are hoaxes; the source I saw for at least one of them probably is, I think it's something from some fanfiction.

At any rate, hilarious.

E: And it seems the entire book was leaked a day or two ago.  Oh, internet, haha.

My mom works in a pet store and sometimes they get people who come in with fish they don't want anymore.  She asked if I wanted the two betta fish someone had brought in and I said sure.

Here they are, the tank is divided so they can't hurt each other, but they like to charge sometimes.

I can't think of any names for them, though.  They're males and I want a pair of names, but I'm having a bit of brain freeze about it.  The only two I've come up with so far are: Hiro and Ando, or Worker and Parasite.  I'm sort of leaning towards the latter for no real reason even though they'd be horrible names, haha.

Had two interesting dreams over the past few weeks, though not the most interesting like ones I've had in the past.

1-
I had an air super power and could fly, glide, make little air bursts and what-have-you.  This wouldn't be such a notable thing if it wasn't for the fact that the dream was half-lucid.  It took a lot of concentration for me to be able to get more than a few inches off the ground.  I've found this is pretty common in the rare time I actually have flying dreams: I have to put in a lot of concentration to make any use of flight.  Once it gets going, though, it feels pretty cool.

This was one of those dreams where I wasn't really myself.  This time I was some chick.

2-
I had superpowers again, but this was more of a Superman type thing; I had a lot of different ones.  I could generate electricity, I was super strong and pretty invulnerable.  I think I had some sort of force field power, but it didn't work right.  I might have had laser eyes as well, I can't remember, but I do know that I definitely didn't have flight.

Someone else was with me, but I don't think she had powers.  She might have been a wizard or something, though.

I was fighting someone with multiple powers like myself.  He was also super strong and invulnerable, but he had elastic powers and super speed as well.  Before the fight, we'd been in a warehouse or garage of some kind and I lit up the room with my electricity powers.  He seemed impressed and I got the feeling like we were friends or at least friendly acquaintances.

After this, we were fighting outside.  He shot his arms out and grabbed me and the girl I was with, but I said some magic words and his arms turned brittle.  I got distracted somehow and he charged at me, he grabbed me by the shirt.  He jumped in the air and dragged me along by my shirt before somersaulting in the air and hurling me at a building.  I braced for the impact and tried to put up a shield, but I slammed into the building at full speed.

Unfortunately, that's when I woke up.

Heyo
This is just a little post to say to people I've changed my AIM screenname.  I'm now TheMercuryHat because I got a new hard drive and couldn't remember my old account's password because I am a big dope.

So I don't have a whole lot of people on my buddylist because I don't remember a lot of people's IM names because I am a big dope.  So yeah, IM me if you want and I'll stick you back on.

To my Auburn friends: I had an idea last night that we should all--I don't know who all is included in all, but I hope you know who you are--get together on the 9th for dinner.  It'll be my last night in Auburn, probably Adam's as well, so we should get together for one last hurrah, as it were.  I have no ideas on where we could eat, but our usual haunts wouldn't be bad, as I am very cheap.

I guess get word out to our gang and see who shows.

Been pretty busy with school, but I've snuck in some doodles time when I had the chance.  I've been drawing superheroes this time for another story I'll never do.

This is Joe and Sam, a pyrokinetic and an aerokinetic, respectively.

Had a weird dream last night.  Woke up early this morning and wrote it down in my notebook before falling back asleep, so here it is.

I was at home for it.  My neighborhood has a big section of woods which form a half-circle around a large, grassy hill.  I was in the woods one day, just walking I think, and I came across an ancient godlike spirit of the forest.

The spirit was tall, probably a good 20 feet at least, and wiry.  It had muscles, but its frame was human, and quite thin and elongated, especially in the limbs.  Its head was an antelope skull ( http://www.meansealevel.net/files/images/Bskull2.jpg ) and it had tribal tattoos all along its arms, hands, and torso.  It was darkly tanned, and wore nothing but a piece of cloth tied around its waist.  It had monkey feet, with brown fur covering them from the ankle to about the middle of the feet.

I came across it as it was changing from being invisible to being visible again, by means of a magic belt.  It then squatted to the ground, and buried the belt.  I knew it was dangerous to be watching it do this, but I had the good fortune to see it first.  It turned around and saw me, but didn't kill me because of this.  I think it might have let me see it.

Then later, it was captured by some people because one of them wanted a way to become invisible.  It was on the hill and secured to the ground on its back by its wrists, I'm not sure how.  They didn't know what exactly the being was, but I was stunned by their actions.  I yelled at them, asked them what the hell they were doing, didn't they know what it was, it was like a god, but they didn't care.  I tried to tell them it wasn't an animal and I begged them to let it go, but I was ignored.

I also learned one of the people there had seen another spirit putting away its collection of bones into a cup.  The bones looked like sheep ankles ( http://www.heronter.org/images/GameoftheMonth/sheepbones.jpeg ) and I was surprised to learn that the spirit had let another person watch it.

I went back to the woods and it sent its animal form to me.  It was a large, brown rabbit and it told me to find its belt.

"You know where it is buried," it said, but it couldn't tell me where.

"Here?" I asked, pointing at a spot on the ground.

"No," it said, but I knew it couldn't tell me where to look and I understood this to actually mean 'yes'.

"I understand, my lord."  I dug.  "Will I find it?" I asked.

"No."

"I understand, my lord."

I found it in the first few digs, and pulled it out.  It was a long, wide strip of leather with some holes on either end.  I went back to where it was being held captive, but it was gone.  The people didn't care or even remember about it.  I saw the spirit at the edge of the forest, somehow my finding the belt had set it free and as a reward I was allowed to keep it.  No one else saw it as it walked away.

I think it would be something pretty interesting to draw up in a quick comic format, but I'd never have the time for it.

Recently, like in the past two or three days, one of the fans on my laptop has started to make an upsetting noise.  It sounds like the blades are hitting something, or there's just too much dust clogging it up to keep it from spinning right.  I dunno.  I dusted it with compressed air a couple times, and it doesn't fix it.  When I blow a lot of air on them, they're supposed to make a tiny, high-pitched whirring noise, but one makes a lower-pitched half-whir half-grind sound.  It's not "coffee grinder" loud, more like "tiny playing card in tiny bicycle" loud.

At this point it's more annoying than anything, and I don't see any negative effects on the laptop's performance.  It's not overheating and it's not grinding to a halt.  It doesn't do it all the time, and it doesn't do it when the fans are on low like they usually are, but if it gets up to medium, the sound happens.  Restarting fixes it, but only sorta temporarily.

So is this something I should really be worrying about in the "will cause catastrophic computer flames" sense, or is it more of a "you should get someone to fix this" issue?

Help me, computer friends, this is why I keep you around!
